Men's Ministry Event Invite: Chicago Wolves Hockey Game, Feb 23

We are in the throws of winter and with it comes another season of ice hockey. You're all invited to join us at Allstate Arena on Saturday, February 23 at 7:00 PM as the Chicago Wolves take on the Grand Rapids Griffins for "Faith and Fellowship Night." Feel free to bring your sons, daughters, and guests to join you on this excursion.

Tickets for the upper-center section of the arena will cost around $24. Post-game skating is available to those that have their own skates and wish to stay. If you would like to attend, contact Eric and let him know if you are bringing any guests and need a ride.

Youth Winter Retreat, Jan 11-13

Youth Winter Retreat, Jan 11-13

Lake Geneva Youth Camp is hosting a winter retreat called Arctic Blast for Midwest area youth groups. Bloomingdale Alliance Youth have been going to this retreat for a few years and have invited us to come along. Cost is $117/student, but there are many scholarships available for this retreat. We will need 6 students in order to make this retreat possible. Contact Joe with any questions.

Church Lunch, Jan 6

Church lunch Jan 6

To celebrate the start of 2019, we will have a family-style hot pot church luncheon. What is a hot pot? It is a pot of simmering broth on a portable burner in the middle of each table. Then around it are plates of meat, seafood, and vegetables, all prepped and ready to be cooked in the broth. Like fondue, hot pot is a very sociable event. Sign up to bring one or more food items and cooking equipment. See June Gin for more information.

Breakthrough Urban Ministries’ Christmas Store

Breakthrough Urban Ministries’ Christmas Store

Cornerstone is collecting unwrapped gifts to donate to Breakthrough Urban Ministries’ Christmas Store. Each year the Breakthrough Christmas Store provides families in Chicago’s East Garfield Park neighborhood, as well as Breakthrough’s homeless guests, a dignified way to purchase gifts for their loved ones. Proceeds benefit Breakthrough programs that help serve numerous adults, children, and families impacted by Breakthrough each year. A wish list of needed gifts and additional info can be found on their website. Please drop off your donations at Cornerstone Community Church by Sunday, December 9, and we will take them to Breakthrough in time for the Thursday, December 13 deadline. Contact Eric Burpee if you have any questions.
